1/87 scale BW FOB Afganistan
Posted by minitanker on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 10:56 AM

Inspired by photos of bases for BW PGs in Afganistan. This is supposed to represent a corner of a larger FOB. Skiploader w/wire & landser to finish repair on HESCOs (yet to be placed in this pic) on the left. Security roamers w/K9s. Blue panels w/color of the day. Tracks loading up for op while EOD & electronic warfare Foxes wait outside as patrol passes by. View features containers for generator, aid station, command/coms, armory, sleeping qtrs, water point, showers, & supply.

HESCOs in place.

Wire in place. Security teams manning the parapets.

Not quite finished. PaulE

Wunderschoen!

I mean it's already lookin' good! For a long time I envied the Roco 1/87 series the selection of cold era US stuff like the 5 ton truck and stuff like that.

And you should probably mention, as it's not quite clear in the US - if I got you right - that you mean Bundeswehr writing BW.

Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Paweł

Thanks Pawel. Yes, being a 2 finger typist I try to keep things to a min. You are correct, BW is for Bundeswehr & PG is for Panzergrenadiers. PaulE

I don't know if the details are right but that is a really impressive job of painting camo on all those vehicles and the teeny-tiny figures. Thanks again for posting, I really enjoy looking at your dioramas.

Thank you gentlemen. The HESCOs were a real PITA, but came out pretty good. PaulE
