No one would have believed...

"No one would have believed, in the last years of the nineteenth century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space."

Hello…

Just finished up my second diorama… This one was for a friends birthday.

They have an obsession with The War of the Worlds (original not the poor Cruise remake)

Modelled and 3D printed the cylinder/ship.

Wow! Showing this as a blank and then as the finished diorama really emphasizes your skill and the work you put into it. Just an amazing transformation.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Looks good, I would probably never thought of doing that scene.  Check out Jeff Wayne's Musical version of War of the Worlds.  It came out in the 70s and eventually became a stage show.  There's a War of the Worlds series, actually two , running on T.V.  One came out in the 70s with Jared Martin as opne of the lead characters.  This picks up years after the George Pal movie.  The aliens have changed a bit but the manta shaped war machines are the same.

The second series takes place in modern times and is quite different.  I watched a few episodes but stopped because there was something disturbing about the show.  I can't explain what exactly but I had to stop.  It is swoping on EPIX channel.

Oh gee Sie, I saw this on my phone when you first posted it, was going to comment, and then forgot... Embarrassed

Really neat idea and great job on the dio! I like the George Pal version but nothing beats the original novel!

Very well done diorama. The forest looks magnificent along with the gouged out earth of the landing site.
