You certainly have an ambitious little project on the go here Greg. As per your future plans some tree and shrubs will certainly add to the finished product.

P.S. - I notice you want to add a Lynx to your project, best of luck, there's none on the market that I know of but you can use the Tamiya Dingo or use it as a starting point for a Lynx conversion.

Nope .... the Dingo and Lynx are two different critters. The Lynx is a Canadian made version of the Dingo using parts from the C.M.P. series of vehicles. While certain parts and dimensions are the same, there are some major differences. The suspension, wheels, and engine deck are the most obvious. But you can still use a Dingo for your dio and use Canadian markings too, the Canadian Army used them. Yuo just can't call it a Lynx Wink [;)]

Few comments:
Individual builds look good.
The range here is problematic. Either side would have opened fire sooner. I'd go with two distinct dios here. One with the Germans and one with the Canadians, leaving out either the guy firing the recoilless rifle or the two guys on foot.
Nice touch with the jeep on the rock and the way you canted the front wheel. However, this makes it loook like it's in motion which would make aiming a recoiless rifle in the trailer almost impossible. If it's stopped, it should have settled more. Also, the guy with the RR is very exposed to enemy fire where he is.
Commercial sandbags just don't blend together like real ones do.
The two Canadians off to the left don't fit in withthe rest of the action.
The grass appears too uniformly bright and green. Look for Woodland Scenics turf product in the railroad section. The mixes have slightly differnet shades in each pack to give a more real look.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Greg,

That is some project you have undertaken. I know just what you are going through as I am still in the build phase of my diorama. You have done a good thing in showing the build progress. That way you can get input for improvements which are easier to do during the build than after. What will be the overall size of the base when it is finished? The comment on the Woodland Scenics stuff is a good one as that is what I am using and it is great. Keep the photos comming as it looks as if you have a good startBig Smile [:D]

Very nice progress. I see you completely redid the ground coverage. What did you use? If I may, real grass is seldom (if ever, except on a golf course) completely uniform in colour. I suggest either washing or drybrushing, or even airbrushing several various shades of green over the grass for a more realistic result. Also, some a nice dusting between the edges of the road and the ground would work very well, to show a more natural transition between the two.
Excellent progress. Keep the pics comming.

The individual builds appear to be excellent! I do have a little bit of a problem with the amount of activity, and the range with which it is occuring. In my opinion your dio would be better served as two seperate dio's! one as an offensive force, being the Canadians, and the second, being a defensive force being the Germans. The terrian is far to open to allow this much heavy action in a small space with this much armor. I don't mean to be to critical as your project represents a great deal of hard work and excellent modelling techniques, and I do realize you are still in progress. semper fi, mike

the grass i know is too bright, i got it from a friend and thought i would give it a try. the reason for the closeness is because i didn't have alot of space. i was thinking that; the germans were taken by suprise and were slow to fire the AT gun, the germans were camoflaged behind bushes (yet to be placed) and were not seen by the allies unitl the gun fired at the jeep.
