Excellent and original idea for this diorama. Great job! BTW what scale are these planes, 1:72nd?

Great job rescuing those kits and what a fantastic idea for a dio.  Looks great!

Thanks,

I have got lots of partly started or parts missing kits in few years, because quite many old modelers have passed away and "people don´t want to buy started or parts missing kits". Well I don´t mind!Big Smile Quite many of these kits are allso "out of date" aka vintage kits for me.

I have got several gems from these and because these comes from several sources I have managed to combine sets to get complete kits. Those wich I don´t like I give to friends. And some get new life as something else, than they ment to be.

So. Old Airfix Hawker Sea Hawk. Totally out of date. If I remember right it missed one landing gear. Still the shape looked good. But the idea of British carrier fighter didn´t.

Some Googling showed few examples in civilian registratration. hmm... Sea Hawk... SE-HWK! So I needs to be in Swedish registration. Still needs some twist. Race plane! As far I understood, not qualifying real race rules. I don´t careZip it!

Some diorama would be nice. So it needs some sort equal pair.

Tadaa!!

Old Frogg Gloster Meteor! Lacking canopy and one stabilizer.

From parts box I found stabilizers of old Froggs Bristol Blenheim MK1. And canopy I don´t know from what kit it is from. Minor shaping and it fits. Registration should be British.

No much details to either one. Colour.... Well let´s see what old spray bottles I have... Blue for Sea Hawk. So it needs yellow lettering. Looks then Swedish enough.

For Meteor I found metallic green. Golden effects would be nice. Golden... G-LDN!

Letters and Swedish cockade I found from old decalsheets from same sources. Small decals from different spare decals. Union Jack to Meteor and name "Nillson" to Sea Hawk from Tamiya 1/20 JPS F-1 decals.

And because these are racing and it´s going to be diorama I need that fabric cone. That´s made from silk paper and colored with marker pens.

That was nice and relaxing build. No need to think too much reference.

Hope You enjoy. I did!
