Kubelwagon finished
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, May 31, 2004 6:39 PM
This weekend I finished my 1/48 scale Tamiya Kubelwagon and 1/72 scale Italeri Opel Blitz truck, today it stopped raining enough for me to take a few pictures of them.
Since I don't know very much about these kind of models feel free to point out the areas where I made mistakes.

Well, for a wingy-thingy guy...you sure know how to make good armor. Nice job.

Thanks very much Dwight anf muzzleflash88!

I don't know anything about armor so if you guys say it is alright it is more than good enough for me.
I will be adding a Panzer Wirbelwind and Ostwind for airfield defense as soon as they get here and they are built.

Are you using your airfield for 1/48 and 1/72?
I was just saying that because of the different scale vehicles. Keep it coming, its looking great!

Thanks rebelreenactor!

When the photobase is done I had planned on photographing both 1/72 and 1/48 scales, but not at the same time.
In my kit stash I have about as many 1/72 scale as 1/48 scale, a lot of building I need to do!

Thanks Dave!

The camo on the Blitz looks strange, the cab and the truck bed have very different looking camo, the bed must have a replacement from a different truck. The picture I used as a reference was in black and white and I guessed as to what the colors were, the cab had a three tone camo paint job while the bed was a faded two tone camo.

Looks very good. Especially considering the scale of the Opel.
Do you have any structures in your dio, such as a hanger or something like that?

Thank you zokissima!

I do have some buildings made so far, but not in these set of pictures.
I am working on a scratchbuilt airplane hanger right now which will be the last big item to be added to my photobase.
Will post some pics when its done.

Nice!

Now, if only you threw in some powered-suit or mech in the background...just to get a reaction out of your viewers!

Fagaku,

If I did something like that I'd get run right off this forum! LOL!

Anyway, thanks for the comment.

I built that Kubelwagon and Opel truck just for things to place in the background of my pictures, but I really had fun building and painting them and will probably try some armor models in 1/35 scale. Italeri makes a 1/35 scale Opel Blitz that I have been wanting to try and build.

Thank you very much claymore68!

When the rest of the things I am working on are finished for this photobase I will attempt to do ''photo/diorama'' pictures.
I have purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 which should enable me to age my pictures a little better than I have so far, but so far I have not used it yet because of lack of time to try it.
