white glue is the preferred method of most. It dries transparent and to quote oft written passages in the aircraft build articles I've read, "often allows the base color to show through or transmit so that the attachment is seamless and often needs no painting to cover or hide."
Be sure to use it sparingly and to hide any over spread since it will make a glossy patch. Once dry it is almost invisible and easily cleans up. If you decide down the road to change your camo, a little water will soften the glue and it will pop off. Any remainder can either be scraped or literaly peeled away.
Also make a very good seam filler.
