I would tack it to a board, mix up some watery acrylics, (greens, browns, khaki, etc.) and drip them randomly across the net, allowing the paint to soak into the threads and then blotting-up the excess with a paper towel. Set aside to dry. Dry-brush with khaki when completely dry.
