Diorama Depicting the Rescue of Army PFC Jessica Lynch in Iraq

This is amazing. From basically nothing but basic items, this guy built this diorama. The Sea Knight helicopter is said to be made out of mostly glue and toilet paper. Wish there were larger pictures and more showing the interior. Must be something to see.

Construction of the diorama took more than six months and was made with scraps of paper and other items he is permitted to have in his cell. James says it took 400 sheets of 8 ½ by 11 paper along with 30 sheets of cardboard from the back of tables, potato chip bags turned inside out, bread ties, Popsicle sticks and plenty of glue and paint.

What a good job on the diorama...the helicopter and figures look great.
Thanks for posting, Dave.

Reminds me alot of the 18thc. prison ship models. Prisoners would build these absolutely beautiful ships from bone, bits of wood, fabric, what ever they could lay their hands on and sell them for extra food, garments etc. They became quite popular and some of the workmanship is outstanding.

That is quite impressive. I guess with all that time on his hands though it really made it pass by a bit better. Imagine what he could do with the same materials we have access to.

This is a fine example of art vs modelling.. This man is definitly an artist . His message is as important as he portrays it.. Amazing.

Very impressive diorama but tacky subject. Props to the guy who made it though.
