i have seen film of the sa-2 being loaded onto the launcher and it was done by hand crank. however , where on the launcher this was done, i can't be sure.

Think these shots are of an Egyptian unit. Not sure though.
Lots of good sites came up when I Googled images for SA-2 including some good shots of the Fan Song radar.

Interesting stuff, Philip. What nation is that SA-2 transporter from? Looks like an Arab country, or is it a desert-painted vehicle from the Russian armed forces?

Can't tell if they hand crank the missile over or if the transfer is electric.

I'm in the process of finishing a scratchbuilt SA-2 Guideline missile with transporter in 1:72 scale....I'd like to put in in a dio showing the missile being transferred to the hard site launcher rail, but have no idea how this was accomplished in the field. I do know the transporter rail pivoted, but how the actual transfer was made, I'm clueless....anybody know how this was done?
