he definetly gets two thumbs up in my book and if he's that good at such a young age, there's no telling what he'll come up with in the future.

Thanks,Charlesw and Darren for your good words.
I think too, that he has the touch, much more that i have in his age,I hope that he continue to have fun in doing it.For now your words have gave him the boost to doing another dio. I don´t want to pressure him but i have beginning to give him the view of the need to do some weathering and tell him very brief what was the WW2.
Thanks for your support words.

Very imressive for a first dio of any age, nevermind 8! Keep on encouraging him as long as he enjoys it, he's got a great eye for the composition and storytelling elements and some neat ideas for achieving effect as well. Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks Frank,Phroosh and Mike. I think at this time the most important is like you said, that he enjoys our hobby, I hope when he his older to remember to teach is son of a wonderful thing that is modelling.
Me too ,I remember my first kit that my father gave me ,a Matchbox 109.
Thanks guys for your kind words, that makes him very proud and also very motivated to continue to make more and better dios. He is now asking how to make it more realistic ,so I think we are begining with weathering basic technics.

Excellent modeling by your son..I would not worry about been too accurate in the details as long as he enjoys it..when he gets older he can look in that direction..
But the main thing is that he enjoys the hobby..
well done.Thumbs Up [tup]

Pedro,

Just came across your article this evening, so I wanted to send along my compliments to master Vasco for a job VERY WELL done! Smile [:)] It is good that you encourage him in this interest, as it will be something he'll carry with him the rest of his life... and one day introduce to his own son. (I have a feeling Grand Dad will be right there with them, too!) Smile [:)]

Thank you!
Frank

Geez, when I was eight, I hadn't even built my first model ANYTHING! That is incredible! As for historical accuracy, I wouldn't worry about it yet (wish some of your respondents would cut your son a bit of slack); when he's ready to be historically accurate, he'll let you know. Definitely, I want to see more from Vasco! Tell him to keep up the good work!

Thanks DanCooper,FreedomEagle1953 and Model Maniac, for your words, here we are responding very far from home in hollidays, but Vasco want to see if there were more responses,so here we are.
I think is next project will be a British or American tank in a war diorama in Normandie.
I will send pics when finish.
I think i am very lucky by Vasco liked to build models,it is a pitty that the kids more and more want to play only computer. We can see more shops closing. It`s sad.

Thanks guys

Vasco has done very good job!, you should be proud of him. Give him more materials like WWII tanks and let's see his new work. I have 3 nephews - 9, 11 and 12 years old - but I don't think any of them can build a model this good, not to mention a diorama! Smile [:)]

Hi ya madspaniard ...

Please tell you son how much I enjoyed viewing his work ... he has done a great job ... and as far as historical accuracy ... don't worry about the little details at this age ... it's the basics that an 8 year old should work on ... and he is doing a great job of that !!!

Thanks for sharing ... and keep up the great work ... both of you ... Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Who cares about historic accuracy with a result like that ! Just think of a it like a 'what if', what if WWII started 30 later than it did. OK

Jeez, when I was 8 years old I didn't even know there was special paint for plastic models.

Keep up the excellent job, and can I contact your son in case I want to learn something from him ???

Thanks Tugcap and Bbrowniii, for your words,I must confess that I get suprised too.
I know that when i was eight,i think i didn´t do so good my aircrafts.
I give him my suport to continue the hobby(nº1) and then like you said Bbrownii ,the historical accuracy will come along with the age, i know that is an important factor, but in his age we don´t care too much.
Thanks guys.

I can't believe people are busting on this kid for historical accuracy. HE'S EIGHT, for crying out loud. Pedro, tell your son he did a great job and to keep up the good work. He is developing his imagination and creative skills. If he decides to compete someday, then he can worry about historical accuracy, but until then, let keep right on building them. I know I'm jealous. I wish I had skills like that when I was eight.

Quite nice indeed. Dealing with a good snow scene is certainly a challange for even experienced modellers. I can do almost as good and I'm 59.
