doesn't the kit come with a little pamphlet on how to make the diorama? I'm not a diorama guy, but i'm sure the experts here will help you out.

If I am right, the first flight was on the beach,so you must have a base (styrofoam),then you must create some little dunes, spray with glue, and cover with sand, and there is a start for you.Do you have some figures in the scale of the aircraft? that will be nice for a start.
Send some pics when you finish.good luck

Just picked up a Revell "100th aniversary of flight" Wright Flyer. Kit comes with an instruction booklet and a separate diorama "tips" booklet as well as Orville and Wilbur figures, parts for constructing a realistic looking diorama and rigging line. Kit is 1/39th scale (anyone ever heard of that?) and according to the diorama tips booklet was originally cast 40 years ago. Kit has good detail and seems to be accurate, plus diorama tips book tells how to superdetail using basic techniques. Don't know if you want two kits, but this sounds like what you're looking for. Good luck!

Oh, one alternative I forgot. I can't remember the specific issue, but I believe that our host magazine ran an article on that subject recently. (Possibly summer 2003?) It's worth checking back issue covers and purchasing.Blush [:I]

It's the December 2003 issue. I think they author used paper mache to do the diorama base.

I have seen a lot of models depicting the moment of liftoff, which is nice but it has been done many times before. What I would suggest is to search the web for Wright brohers sites for ideas. They have many pics of the temporary buildings they constructed on the dunes. You could show them putting on the wings, rigging the controls or whatever your imagination can come up with.Dare to be different and good luck .Cheers! John.

Men from the US Life Saving Service were pressed into assisting the Wright Brothers on that day.
