                        I now give you the not-so-completed Diorama No. 8!

                        The diorama was supposed to be centered on my recently built M4A4 Sherman Firefly VC but it turned out (IMHO) that the focus shifted to a british soldier giving his prayers for a fallen comrade whom he took time to give a decent burial. I tried to get the effect of wind blowing on all possible elements of the dio to fit the proposed title.

                        While I am still contemplating of adding some stowage to the tank...I may do that later.

                        Here it is folks... Wink [;)]

                        I liked the base and the Sherman even more. Nice job on the wind blown hair. I'm assuming you scuplted that yourself. Great Job!

                        jkeller: Thanks for the kind words. Yes I sculpted the hair using Tamiya Basic Putty. I used a needle as my sculpting tool.Smile [:)]

                        Nice to see more pix!
                        As I mentioned in the other post, this is a great work of art, Dwight. The windy scene (great hair sculpting!) really projects a feeling of forlorn sadness to me. Powerful.

                        The only critique I can offer is that the tracks and suspension on the right side do not quite interact with the ground as solidly as they could. The left side seems fine, but the right side appears to be floating ever so slightly above the ground (of course, maybe you haven't finalized it's position on the dio!).

                        That certainly doesn't detract from the overall moving message of the diorama, but I know you'd want some constructive criticism amongst all the praise, too!

                        J-hulk: You are correct. The tank is just sitting on the base for now.Big Smile [:D]. I hurriedly took the picture yesterday morning before I left for the office as a guy named ERUSHBig Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D] is eagerly awaiting the picsSmile [:)]. The wooden frame is also not final. It is a picture frame actually. Just use it to make the whole thing look more presentable.Wink [;)]. I will be mounting it on a simple plywood base and I'll make sure that the tank would be properly set in place. Thanks for the comment. I always value inputs from the site. Remember my 2nd dio? You pointed out that the hole in the machine gun barrel isn't showing and if you haven't I wouldn't have noticed.

                        Lest we forget that freedom is not free. There have been countless men thet have died on the field of battle. We sometimes forget that the subjects we model are derived from the desperate battles betwwen good and evil for lack of a better term. A soldier quietly uttering a prayer for a fallen comrade while the wind blows is a solemn endeavor and you have captured the effect quite well.

                        My hat's off to you.
