Proud of my wife !

That is very cool...before my daughter was born, my wife did some modeling with me as well... but she ends up falling asleep when the 17 month old does, so I am a solo late night modeler

That is great. My wife never showed an interest in it but my kids have experimented a couple of times.
I like the idea for the dio. What did she use for the tree?

I think it's great that your wife builds with you! You couldn't ask for a better way to "bond" (pun intended) with your mate. While my 4 year old son shows more artistic inclination than my wife, she quietly supports my inane hobby by providing me with all my reference books through her connections in the publishing world. I am eternally grateful to her for this, for without it, my library would be but a mere fraction of the size it is today. Three cheers for wives who support our hobby!

That is just a great story Mark. I have seen an interest by my wife also since I have become a member of this great forum. I think she is very close to attempting something. It's ironic because she has hinted at wanting to build a VW. I had to share this story with her. Thanks for a great human interest story. semper fi, mike

Looks great! So far my wife has kind of been on the sidelines cheering me along but recently she has expressed interest in doing a wooden ship model... Definitely nice to have a supporting wife!!! Better to have one to model with!

My wife paints miniatures and figures (plus builds the occaisonal model as well), we are down in our large hobbyroom together on most nights. Lori is currently vice president of the scale modelling club we belong to as well :)

I am really proud of her accomplishments as well! This year at the competition as part of WASMEx 2004 (Western Australian Scale Model Expo), she took Gold and bronze in the Sci/Fi Figures section for the second year running!

This great hobby is certainly a big part of our lives and marriage and we really go places fueled by each others encouragement. I would never change a thing!

That's great when spouses share the same hobby (makes it easier to convince the other to buy more models )! My wife doesn't model but supports me 110%. She even bought me an airbrush, compressor, and a few other tools over the years.

Here's to our wives and husbands that put up with our late nights sucking in glue/paint fumes in order to finish our latest creations!

I feel just as happy as you guys ,my wife paulina helps me with my bashes and dioramas.
She has made hearing devices for over 10 years and is used to work with the small parts and tools.
We usually built together on the dinner table as a social thing.
Our boys are that old(7&11)that they walk around and enjoy what they see.
In fact my oldest did make the drawing of an "old" Walther Yankee Crashtruck from O'Hare Int.Airport i'm currently schratchbuilding.
This hobby brings us some good quality time to share with the family.
Life couldn't be greater as a man gets help and support from his family.

Mark: Totally on topic! Your wife is doing a lovely job on the project. Dioramas don't have to be about things with guns that blow stuff up and break stuff. If I'm doing a photo shoot at a show and I see something non-military like this, I always make a point of leaving an FSM card, just because it's a nice change of pace.

Everybody else: great to see that you're sharing the hobby with your spouses/families. As more and more jobs involve, basically, sitting in front of computers (remember when getting to use one was a novelty?), hobbies where you *make* tangible, 3-dimensional things become more and more important.

And don't forget to send FSM pictures of your finished projects for Reader Gallery!!
