Hi Aimdcv64,
The next time you go out into your backyard to get rid of some dead vegitation check out some of the small dead tree roots, bang the dirt off of them, let them dry out and cut to
desired lengths and glue onto your dio. Maybe a little tough to do now depending where you are, ground might be a tad frozen. Anyways there you are, great lookin trees!

Super nice job on all of them. Thank you for sharing them with us. I think I like the last one the best, the trees look just fantastic. If I may ask how did you make the trees?

Thanks so much yw18mc and Zokissima, your comments are much appreciated. I`m looking forward to seeing that Centurion your working on,did you get that site that I posted in the reference section for you? My Dad spent 9yrs in Gagetown driving the Centurion so has a little special meaning for me. Thanks again.

Holy cow, those are some spectacular builds. Great job. I'm afraid I can't offer much in the way of criticism, as your skills greatly surpass my own.
Way to go on the Canadian Sherman. I so rarely see models of one...

Russ,

Very impressive work. Now that you have this many Shermans, you can feel kind of confident on taking on one tiger! ha!, No, really, these dio's are the best. Can't wait to see your future posts......
regards,
Steve

Many thanks Armour_freek and Stickjockey. The frostyness was achieved with first putting on the base colour of olive drab, then a heavy drybrush of whitewash, then a black and brown wash to tone down the white camo and then redrybrush the white to put back the frost on the raised details. As for the mg mount yer eyes are better`n mine so will need some checkin into.

How did you get that frosty look on the first one? That just looks cold!!

On the second one (the one with the HVSS suspension), where is the pintle mounted to the topside .50? It looks like it might be a bit far back on the receiver. It should be mounted under and just forward of the ammo box, kind of on the bottom front corner of the receiver. A small trifle, really, and easily fixed.

Nice collection!

I appreciate your comments J-Hulk, it does take other onlookers to see what the builder misses. Thanks for taking a look.

Sasd, that is amazing work! Beautifully weathered finishes, well-composed scenes, and great figures, too. Fine job scratching the dozer blade, too! Very impressive!

I scoured the pix long and hard looking for something to offer some constructive criticism on...but that's a tough job! If I had to mention anything (and I stress, these are only small, insignificant things), it'd be that in the first pic (Winter M4), the left track doesn't quite seem to be fully seated on the sprocket. And in the fourth pic (early M4A1 "Alberta"), the suspension doesn't quite seem to be engaging the terrain as well as it could be. Seems to be kind of floating over the rubble in some places.

Anyway, I had to look real long and real hard to find those two things to comment on, neither of which detract from the impact and beauty of your work.Big Smile [:D]

Looking forward to seeing your two other Shermans!Smile [:)]

Sherman Collection
Posted by sasd on Saturday, December 11, 2004 12:17 AM
Hello everyone,
I thought I would share with you all the rest of my Sherman collection and maybe give you some ideas for a future project or a current one.
Most of my Shermans are built straight out of the box with additions of stowage.
One exception is the Sherman Dozer,I scratched the blade. So here are a few more to have a look at and please do make a comment or two.

I have two more shermans ready for a vig or two, soon.
Enjoy and thanks!
