Gumshoe,
The deck, crew, tractor and F14 are all in the kit. It was issued a good few years ago but must still be around if you look hard enough.DML did a few of these small dio's.Another had a Hornet if I recall.

I like it!!! i think the canopy might be too heavily tinted though. Great build!

Looks great Reggie.

I like the shot with the window light from behind. Put a little dry ice around it (for the fog effect), shoot it at a lower angle and it'll look straight out of "TOP GUN".

I have that kit (the old DML) and never thought it could look so good.

Well done!!

Reggie,
I am building something about the same but in 1/48 scale, Where did you get the info on the carrier deck. ie, jet blast deflector, catipult scuttle, and the deck it self.

I knew I had seen this before. Anyway, I'm glad you managed to find some place to do your modeling Wink [;)]

For that small of a scale i used to paint the inside of the canopy to hide the bad cockpit.

here it is folks, my dragon 1/144 shake n bake dio. its completely box stock, painted with tamiya and gunze acrylics. i used an aztek airbrush (thanks tom) for the smaller parts, and a humbrol spray gun for the larger areas.
the 3 tone camo is a load of Bravo Sierra cos there is almost no discernable difference.
the cockpit was just lumps, so i deleted it and just decided that a gaping hole is preferable to some blobs. the canopy is tinted with future and blue food coloring (thanks mom).

enjoy, and please do let me know what you think

P.S. i posted this on the A/C forum too
