First of all...welcome to the forums. I see the dark side has claimed another victim...er.......convert.

For slings, belts, straps etc., old toothpaste tubes cut to the right size, aluminum foil, lead foil will all work well.

Lead foil has the advantage that you can bend it to the shape you want and it stays put, no fiddling around trying to get the strap to stay in place. I also use .020 solder, available by the roll at electronic stores, rolled underneath a X-acto handle until it is flat.

I've used lead foil on several different applications and have been more than satisfied with the results.Big Smile [:D]

Medals are not "Won", they are "Earned".

O, O, O I got one. I like to use the old brown paper bags that you dont see any more. the brown bags are a good color and their alittle thicker than regular paper. And... you can even cut it with a pair of sissors to the right length and CA glue both ends to the gun or whatever. Hope that helps.

My main material is lead foil but I also use Tamiya or 3M masking tape painted to the appropriate colour. Approve [^]

Tissue paper. Use water to mold and after paint.
