the pak 40 replaced the pak 35 because the pak 35 was not that great against the russian tanks. i'm not sure when or if they stopped using the pak 35. the pak 40 came out near the end of 1941 so it would have to be after that. i'd go with an eastern front dio.

hope this helps

The Pak 40 and Pak 35 would have been seen in an early towed TD unit. A platoon would have the Pak 35s and the 2nd platoon would have the Pak 40s. Other platoons would have Pak 38 and ammo. This would be the make up in 1942.
The Pak 40 first saw combat in Russia. It was designed to replace the Pak 35 witch did horribly against the French Armor.
Markings would be any towed TD unit. And all 3 guns would be painted in German Gray as would the Krupp.
So, I would go with an Early war Eastern front dio.

One word "Barbarossa" (spell check on aisle 2 plz.)Big Smile [:D]
I have to agree with the others, east front June to Dec.1942. Something like the road to Stalingrad. They would have been used to set up a hasty defence during one of the many Russian counter-attacks that came from the centeral part of the Eastern Front.
