Lunch in Italy
Posted by sasd on Thursday, January 6, 2005 11:23 PM
Doing "Lunch in Italy" using Tamiya`s Famo.

The figures came from the parts box and the beach furniture was scratchbuilt.

The columns are wedding cake decorations.

The goodies on the table and the magazine were scratched.

The engine was wired and the firewall detailed.Netting is gauze.

An Mg was added to the crew compartment.Netting again is gauze.

The back end with tools.

...and the spade.

Again the cammo is drybrushed and the groundcover is sand ballast.
Enjoy.Smile [:)]

Yepieee first to reply. I would like to start by saying I have never tryed an Italy dio, but maybe some day. Here we have a BEAUTIFUL example. Please when you have time give some hints,(you said dry brushed cammo). It looks much more involved than that. BEAUTIFUL build.

Hi Skar, not complicated at all! The base coat, panzer grey in this case was hand brush painted on then with a 1in wide soft bristle brush I drybrushed dark yellow in an irratic pattern. When I tackle an idea I have to because of certain circumstances do the best I can with what I have on hand,so I have forced myself to learn to drybrush 3 colour cammo schemes or use pastels to do a thin lined cammo scheme on a BergElephant.
One does a lot of experimenting.

Oh man, that is absolutely gorgeous Smile [:)]
I wish I could be more specific with questions, but it's clear to see that it looks good because of good ability, so to you sir I say, you've inspired me to further refine my methods.
And who said that the art of brush-painting is gone.
Once again, excellent work.

Thanks guys, here`s a little tidbit about the vig,go to your favourite craft store or wedding cake supplies store and scoop a couple of different sizes of pillars, they`re plastic so can be damaged, scored and painted. They arn`t what some real columns look like but you could cut them into sections, block them off with card and restack them, would be most effective. This I found out about after the fact!
