                        Camo netting from a stuffing bag...brilliant!!

                        Great looking dio! Love the detail on the truck and the damage is nicely modeled. Love the uniforms on those figures, too!

                        After viewing your other dio, I'd say you have a knack for them for sure. This is just as great as your other one. Top-notch weathering and attention to detail make this a winner.

                        For the Denison smock, I didn't really follow any set pattern, just took a quick look at the back of the box and went from there.

                        At the moment, I'm working on a StuGIIIG, and am using cut brass sheet for the schurzen. Then a Krupp Protze with a Flak 38 mounted on the back, and it will be going into a dio along with a scratchbuilt house ruin (see thread in Dio section.."Scratch Built House Ruin)
                        Still got alot of other photos of older and recent dios to post here, just have to get some time! LOL

                        oops ,seeing another wall sign after close inspection.
                        the top says wees dapper(be brave) what the bottom says i can't read it BC of the angle the pic is taken from.

                        what i dunno understand is why it shows a Dutch landmacht (army) soldier wearing a German style helmet.
                        only geussing it's a Dutch soldier BC the red-white-blue patch on his sleeve.
                        red white and blue represent the Dutch flag.
                        the other guy is probably as i see the crest on his collar a Dutch NSB (national socialist movement )member

                        I just painted the RD with Tamiya and craft paint (damn, I can't remember which colors) Dark Yellow, Red Brown, and Japenese Dark Green I believe, a burnt umber/black wash, and a little drybrushing.

                        The simple fact is that towards the end of the war there were alot of parts that did not make it on to the vehicles. In fact if you would not have said any thing thats the way I would have read it.

                        So...Great build, and the battle damage adds nicely to the story.

                        Cammo netting is made out of cheesecloth, it's actually a stuffing bag bought at the local grocery store, for like 2 bucks, and you get two bags, enough to to alot of netting!

                        Gygaxx, I'm sure it will be coming, but I'm like Russ, I strictly build OOB, unless some AM comes my way...
                        I managed only to get that Verlinden piece while I was in Vancouver for their contest, we did some shopping and with our club discount, that piece ended up only costing me like 30 bucks plus tax.
                        You all also may recognise the building piece, it's the same one that's in my Last Days dio. I cast that piece out of plaster to see if it would work.

                        I really love the Hanomag. It looks real to me........like the previous post, there was a halftrack somewhere that was missing certain things. Every time I build a model I always have some piees left over......either they were a pain to do or they "fell off" during thier life in battle. Whatever. There will be some perfectionists out there who will scoff at this and drown you in technical jargon to belittle you. Poor guys.

                        I'm sure that somewhere, sometime during the war, there existed a 251 that had it's benches backrests removed, so I wouldn't worry too much about that!
