Middle East Building, and street ideas?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 21, 2005 10:55 PM
i want to build a typical baghdad/afganistan type structure, two storey.

Thing is i want some heavy battle damage, bullet holes, roof damage, corner bricks missing.

Mainly so i can put my soon to be complete pair of little birds and a Blackhawk in it as an Insertion type scenario

Any ideas, this would be my first dio in 12 years and my imagination needs a kickstart.

Cheers

If you are talking 1/35 scale, that would have to be huge.

Here are some photos from Iraq, mostly palaces and a few street scenes.

Those should give you some ideas. Another good referance is to watch Blackhawk Down , it has some great referances for buildings in different states of rubble.

Doing cities (I.E Baghdad) is gonna be alot of work. The people are really packed in here and the streets are ALWAYS jammed up with cars. I got some of what USED to be a residential neighborhood on the way from BC Victory to FOB Wareagle through Sadr City, but I havent gotten em developed yet.. if ya can email me at robert.hughes@us.army.mil or fraserclansman@yahoo.com as soon as I get home Ill try and scan em and send you some pics..

You might try to do a FOB scene.. lots of Jersey and Alaska barriers, Texas T's and Hescos... just a word of note.. sandbags are pretty much on t he out... they dont last! :-)
