peter
did you know that there are forum moderators in here reading you statement about me keeping my yappa quiet?
although it is only a joke among friends, it might sound offensive to the person you got a really long suggestion from.
so here's a word of the wise for you
oh yes, and to make this post not off topic, I tried the hairspray remedy and it is just awesome!!!!!! you should try the hairspray one instead of my post
bye~

hey peter! I see you've become a member!
(he's my modeling mate)
in the Great Scale Modeling, I saw a guy who did it with baking soda and glue
i've tried it. pour white glue an the spot you want(if it's a large spot, take a craft stick and spread it around)
pour really fine b-soda on it and if you want the natural battle sceney clumps, don;t break up the b- soda clumps(my box came with a lot of clumps)
the hairspray thing is new i'd better try that
i'll post the pic of my dio of US soldiers in snow as soon as i get a photoshop digital cam CD(Ican't find it!Banged Head [banghead])

Cheap is fine, but I consider $8 bucks pretty cheap, especially when it will not give you problems over the long run. It is not so cheap when your snow has to be replaced and gives you problems later on.

I've seen flour getting yellow, but not baking soda, Gino... A lot of people have a box of baking soda in the fridge and a lot of people have a mother, or a sister, or a wife wo use hair-spray. That's why it's sooo cheap.

I would (and did) spend the $8 for Woodlands Scenics Snow. You get 32oz, enough for a few major blizzards. I never use foodstuff; baking soda, baking powder, flour, etc. I have had it yellow and be eaten by bugs, even when sealed. The Woodlands Scenics product is the best.

Baking soda sprinkled over and put into place with a fine mist of hair-spray. Won't find much cheaper than that...
