The 15 building Somalia dio --what i DO want to be able to do

Thanks for those who responded to my other thread about the viewing through the floors of a multistory building. You asked for more info, so here it is.

1 I want all of the buildings to have interiors.
2 I need all four walls on most of them
3 It's Mogadishu, so there will be some broken down walls to help
4 I don't mind taking the roof off to look inside, but that only helps with the top floor.
5 and finally, There needs to be some difference between the walls/floors that are crumbling, and those (floors especially) that are just cut away so you can see. The reason is that if you see a cutaway floor that looks like it's just caved in, you'll wonder where the rubble went.

Good luck. I'm all counting on you.

Six out.

Here are a few ideas.

1. Build the dio with all the buildings around the perimeter with action in a courtyard/street/square in the middle. All buildings could be open on the back side to look into.

2. Build each building with one wall removable. You could selectively remove them to look into each buliding.

3. Build each building with cutouts that are square and neat, as opposed to battle damage that is irregular. To further show a deliberate cut, you could either paint the opening a bright color, such as red (just like is done on a cut-away model), or you could actually frame the openings witha moulding and paint the moulding a bright color to make it look like a picture frame that is being gazed into.

4. Build each building with one wall in clear plastic/plexi glass to allow viwing inside. You could build a wall out of plaster, wood , or whatever as a master then vac-form the clear walls so they would still have doors, windows, brick relief, etc.

5. Lastly, you could combine all of these techniques to suite your needs in whatever layout you wish to make.

Good luck.

if u are planning to use the movie theme "black hawk down " ,i would suggest u use a bigger base of at least 2 ft (L) x 2 1/2 ft (w) as a base & focus the attention in the middle, something like from the movie ,use your imagination
