"Shellshocked" - Panzer IVJ Dio
Posted by Kelly_Zak on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 10:54 AM
Tamiya's Panzer IV J kit, built OOB, putty used for zimmerit, Tamiya, Verlinden and Dragon figures. Groundwork is tile grout, mixed with rail ballast, grass put here and there, Lemax rock wall sections, Lemax dead Birch tree. Telephone poles are Italeri (I know, they're too close together, oh well Tongue [:P])
Basically hedge row country, and fresh troops going to the front, with wounded coming back.
Comments/Crit. welcome as always,
Enjoy,
Kelly

Awesome build! The figures look great, and as usual the detail is oustanding.

Thanks guys
Yah, I like the way the figs turned out this time, don't know, alot of people really like the figs for this dio, although I haven't changed much in the way I do them, go figure! haha

This is my latest piece, completed in September, then a car build after that. Only one more little dio to put up, then everyone will have to wait till I finish my current build.

great dio! great detail!!! this gave me an idea for a dio (i dunno if id ever get to it) one with the 101st airbourne goin in to relieve the guys in bastogne and the guys who were there are all beaten up and tell the 101st that theyre all gonna die if they go... like in band of brothers, i think thatd be a pretty good dio...
what r u working on now?

no one word entries for me!! great dio!

That's really a well-detailed diorama. Great job on the tank, the figures and the base. Everything just fell into place perfectly.

Outstanding.

WWWWwwwoooowowwww!!!!
I like the fact that if you did not tell us what this dio was about we would still know, because this dio, all by it's self, tells the story. That, plus the great ground work, figures, and weathering on the tank.

Excellent work...

Wow, great job. The only visual detract is the loose telegraph wire between the poles. The rest is superb.
What did you use for the grass, both normal and the high bushes?

Thanks alot guys, what inspired me was the set of Dragon figures I got in Calgary last may, and finding the Verlinden figures (the two guys who are talking to the CO) was a fluke.
Dorian, I'm working on a rather large composition right now, a scratchbuilt house ruin with a StuG IIIG (completed), Krupp Protze w/ a flak 38 mounted on the back (nearing completion) still a long long way to go on it....AJ, not much I can do 'bout the pics, I can only download a certain way both at work and at home, but when you click on the pics they should be fine.
Zokissima, the grass is just a blend of two different grasses from Woodland Scenics, as is the tall grass. For the tall grass, I just cut a small bushel, dipped the ends into white glue and placed on the ground, then lightly fanning it out a bit to give it a more natural look.

Excellent work!
You really achieved a nice dynamic by having the vehicle almost out of the scene.
Great work!
