Drybrushing road wheels

For the antenna, i used a bristle from a broom. I was looking for one from a local hobby shop when the owner was brushing off dust. It's about the perfect diameter for my 1/35th M1a1, i just had to cut it to length. AND!!!!! it's bendable, so you can tie it down.

As for the dry brush, i used i beleive it's Raw Sienna (i'm at school, can't look at it now) and it looks like mud and dirt on the wheels.

I also did a flicking technique, it's where you put alittle paint on the end of a brush, and flick the part you hold.....this will give you what appears to be splatter marks

For antenna I use 54 or slightly smaller gauge guitar string. You cut it to length, and then peel off the extra "brass" wrapped around the core. Leave about 1/2" of "brass" at the bottom for the spring if you want.

How are you doing? If you want a dirty looking tire, you could paint the whole thing a earthy colour, then drybrush flat black to the raised part of the tire, thus leaving the brown stuck in the treads. For antennae, I just use stretched sprue. Good luck!

for drybrushing: to dry brush your road wheels, use a light gray color and drybrush around the edges of the tires. for and antenna, the brass would, work. But if you want something cheaper you can make it out of streched styrene.

Not sure about the drybrushing (Still trying to figure that one out), but I have used brass rod in the past for antennae. Check out Ace hardware and look for a thickness that looks about right.
