' Home,Safe and Sound'

Here are a couple of photos of my latest Dio.

The year is 1942, the place RAF Harrowbeer in Devon, England.

A Supermarine Walrus of 276 ASR Squadron RAF has just returned from an ASR mission over the English Channel. Having spotted the pilot of a downed Allied aircraft they have landed on the water and picked him up and brought him home.

As the three man crew look on, he is stretchered off to the station Hospital.

Hope you enjoy,

Excellent work! Is that in 1/72 scale? I think I recognise the guys with the stretcher, and the ambulance. I built the Airfix kit that includes them and they look like the ones from my kit.

I love the backdrop too, and the subject is very well done and an excellent choice!

Duke Maddog.

Yeah it is 1/72 and yes it is the Airfix Emergency Vehicle Set.

The back drop is made up of photos taken at RAF Harrowbeer on the spot that a aircraft hardstand used to be , so hopefully making the the whole diorama as true to life as possible.

Thanks for your your appreciation.
