Bwog, the ground is built up of celluclay, this is lightly covered with some sand and cat litter which is pressed in to the celluclay while still wet. then this is painted in acrylic paints to get the earth tones I am after.
The ground cover under the trees is just woodland scenics field grass(straw color) sprinkled over patches of WS coarse turf and fine turf. This is then washed with oils to get the reddish orange hues of fallen pine needles. I then lay down WS static grass mix of burnt grass and honey color and over this is placed heki wild grass that I have painted straw tan colors. The bramble patch is created using first read dead plants ground up to make a scatter then over this is placed rubberised horse hair. I hope this answers your questions. If you have any others feel free to ask
Cheers Kevin
