The Red Menace
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, April 11, 2005 7:55 AM

This is a JS Russian Tank escorting some armoured Russian corp to meet the germans. The Zvezda tank was quite good except the instructions were in russian, and condensed to 1 page! Also, the tracks were the type that you undercoat, paint and then it all flakes off!!!! How do you stop that from happening! The tree is a root that I found outside the garage. I specifically wanted to do a red tank to go with the whole Russian theme.

Faraway, If they have armor suits do they need a tank?
I guess a little extra firepower never hurts.
Great work, It's like 2245 + 1945. The bright red is a nice departure from the usual greens and browns.

Many thanks for the comments. I get a lot of "What???" from military modellers, so am getting pretty used to it. I've only got 1 more 1/35 Maschinen Krieger kit left now to do a cross build so that'll only leave my 1/20 stash LOL.
Hey, and Braxat....give it a go! This is my 4th cross build, and whereas you can't please everybody, you certainly can please yourself :)

Very cool! Great job.
It's great to see something a little "different," particularly when it's well-executed!

I have 5 1/35 MAKs and a MAN 10t with a crane arm I'm going to use as transport for them... as a futuristic "response to terrorism" in much the same manner you have done here. Great job, love the off-the-beaten-path color.
Those 1/35 MAKs are hard to find, but once in awhile you can find them on eBay

Hi Boybuddho, as BBailey mentioned, eBay is a good place to search, or you could try Hobby Link japan. Search terms to use are Maschinen Krieger, or SF3D. There is typically 2 sizes, the normal 1/20 and the new 1/35.
All the best

Hehe, thats what I though also.
Great build.

I have this IS-2 from Zvezda kit stashed somewhere, looks like a great build.
Any major trouble with it FarawayPictures?
Please let me know your opinion on it.

You have inspired me to build the Zvezda JS-2. It is now unwrapped and ready for assembly. Will most likely start on it this week. Cant wait.
