                        i got this idea from the box art of tamiyas 1/35 King TIgers Ardennes Campain.
                        the base itself really isnt anything special, its mostly put together from stuff that i had available. it's my first attempt ever at doing a diorama and it might not look that great, so please be gentile lol. btw, sorry the pic quality sucks in advance.

                        lol i kinda cheated on that, i used some of that Decosnow you can get an craft stores,
                        plus and some lighweight spackling paste. was all i had available at the time <shrug>

                        for what the King Tiger?, for that i went with a pewtergrey/black mix for the basecoat then i did the stripes with watered down black with a qtip and some pastels for detailing and such.

                        Agree with that. Dam fine first attempt but a little snow on the KT will put the icing on the cake.( pun intendedBig Smile [:D])
                        For that , why not try this. Spray the KT with a fine mist of matt varnish and then sprinkle some bicarb of soda on in patches.

                        thats a pretty good idea, i didnt even think of using baking soda for snow covering lol, probably if i had a second KT to fall back on i wouldnt hesitate, but its worth a shot anyways.

                        If its available in your area you can also try mixing baking soda (baking powder might also work) with modge podge.

                        Interesting color choices. You might even give it a dirty whitewash too. Too bad the photos are grainy, would like to see closer pics.

                        lol good idea ken, only problem is i got one of those bottom line digi cams, IE garbage cams. here's some slightly better pics, along with a dead brush dio im working on for my Marder II and sdkfz 251 hanomag, enjoy.

                        Can't comment on the quality of the build due to the picture quality. However, the paint scheme is problematic, both from historical and tactical perspectives. Historically, all King Tigers were produced well after German Armor was being delivered in dunkelgelb, dark yellow. Further, tactically, a big, slow dark gray vehicle against the snow is a really good target when you are faced with an enemy who has aerial supremacy, which was the case in December 1944.

                        Smile [:)]OK but even simple digi's have a selftimer. So try it on a tripod then press for selftimer usualy 10secs. No camera shake..KennyWink [;)]

                        I don't think this is a shaken camera issue. The background shows nice detail in the wood grain in hte second to the last pictrue and the last one has a rectangular thing that looks in focus. The two photographic issues here are a camera too close to its subject and having a large white area reflecting back too much sunlight and washing out the edges of the dark subjects in the foreground

                        Do you have an adjustable desk lamp? Maybe two? use them as light sources. Hang a neutral color towel or other cloth behind you dio and under it as a backdrop. Adjust the lights so the shadows are minimized and the reflectios isn''t so harsh. Remember, the only professional photographs done in direct sunlight are news photos. Every other type of photo, including all those Sports Illustrated beach shots for the swimsuit issue, manipulates light with strobes, reflecting umbrellas, diffusers, spots lights, etc. This is my "photo studio" when it's not being used as my regular workbench.

                        Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

                        i just now tried that idea, and it would have worked nicely had this thing had a way to focus, every pic i took came out like garbage, both of my KT dio and my Panther dio that im working on, i give.
