My first just about everything.

Well, this diorama represents many firsts. Its my first time working in 1/35, working with armor, and making a diorama. Since I expect it to be finished within the month (considering its been in the works for a year now) I'll get a topic started early. It consists of the following: Tamiya's Porsche King Tiger, Tamiya's assault Infantry, Tamiya's Machine Gun Infantry, Tamiya's German Mortar Team, and Accademy's German Tank Crew. It takes place in Normandy, during late June. It shows the German line being attacked by the British. It is about 1 foot square, and is mostly grass, with a brick road to one side. Keep watching this topic for update pics.

Update: The King Tiger is ready for painting, my Assault team is finished, the groundwork is being laid as I type, and I'm going to the store today to get all the stuff I need to finish the whole thing.
EDIT: Does anyone have any good referance pics of the markings of German armor in Normandy?

Like me, i doubt you're basing everything on historical fact, ie in my diorama rangers are moving in to take Carentan with the aid of tank support whereas in reality, it was the Easy CO of the 101st airborne who did it without the help of armour. I make this assumption a King tiger is gonna be in the dio, which weren't really robustly used until December 1944 (i'm sure some friendly tank fanatic will be a bit more specific about common tank units in the vicinity if you ask them). Then again, sometimes the best scene is the least accurate. I really look forward to hearing more of your dio, i'm almost finished with my first one too, http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3848&whichpage=1 Good luck and have fun
