For doing closely cropped grass, like on a WW I or II airfied, static grass works well. Paint your ground work yellowish brown first, the brush it with a watery mixture of white glue (Elmer's is one type) and water and before it is completely dry, sprinkle it with static grass. After it has sat for a minute or so get to the side and blow briskly across the surface. It stand up the grass blades and they look pretty convincing for closely cropped grass in small scales. You can reuse the excess that you caught in a piece of newspaper that the whole thing was sitting on (you did remember the... ooops). I think you can still get static grass from any place that sells Verlinden dio accessories (Squadron Mail Order for instance). Good luck. Chuck
