Looking good. My only quibble is that the figures look a bit relaxed, like they were out on a stroll rather than hitting a beach. Everything else is top notch. Chuck

Nicely done. I'd have to agree with Zouave146, the figures in the water look a little to casual for hitting a beach. The trees look awesome, as does the beach. All in all, this is a well done project. What kits did you use? Any tips you can share on the palm trees and the seawall? Thanks for giving us a look.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Basic building and painting are good and the scenerey is very well done.
I agree with the comments on the too casual figures, especailly the guy with his rifle at port arms. With that much fire, he'd be doing a runing crouch to the sea wall as would the kneeling guy.
The tank has left no tracks in the beach and , I believe, these vehicles had wading snorkles or the exhaust.
Your wave effects look under scale, The white water of the breakers look way to narrow and it looks like we're seeing them from an airplane, I know water isn't easy. but even walking, a man will leave a wake in water.

It does look great. I sat down one time with a Vet. from D day. I asked him if he was shaking when he hit the beach. He loughed so hard." No I saw all my frinds
dead and I strolled up the beach". His thoughts"If I am killd more $ for my wife."
So thats the way some of them thought. Not all.

Great dio, Fabio. One other niggle: the Stuart's just driven across wet sand. Wouldn't it leave some tracks behind it? If you're able to fix up what's been suggested, it'll be a show winner! Thumbs Up [tup]

Thank you guys, for the compliments and the advices...
The figure with his rifle at port arms is really very relaxed I´ll try to change it.
The bullets splashes I used heat stretch spue (clear sprue).
The tracks marks in the beach I´ll try to correct.
The trees I made with a balsa wood (diameter of 1 cm) and them I used paint tape (3M) around the balsa, paint with enamels and them applied some Judea bitumin very dilute with a thinner.
Well Ajlafletche in Tarawa I think the armor doesn´t use the snorkels, take a look in this pics:

Thank you very much guys...cheers

"Your wave effects look under scale, The white water of the breakers look way to narrow and it looks like we're seeing them from an airplane"

This quote is incorrect. The white water of the breakers is correct. That was the problem at Tarawa. The tides were too low at the time of the invasion and alot of LCM's found themselves grounded on the lagoon reefs, 50 to 100yds out from shore and alot of Marines had to wade ashore under heavy MG fire. The LCVT's made it OK, due to their tracks, but alot of them couldn't bridge the seawall because of the low tides.
The figure in the water looks OK, because he's still in the water, the other one is too relaxed and should be in a low crouch running for the cover of the seawall. All in all this is an excellent dio depiction of Betio Island at the Tarawa atoll, and once you tweak those corrections that everyone has commented on, it will put your dio over the top. Being a former Marine I know what I speak of.Wink [;)]

Very nice dio, most excellent. The new figure looks great, and much better. Waves come in different sizes, so I don't know how they can be underscale, they look great, and much much better than I could do! LOL The beach area is fantastic, you have a awesome dio here!

Nope, it's a true story about the liberation of an American prisoner-of war camp in the Phillipeans in 1945.

Fabio, truely well done dio. After some of the corrections, you will have a show winner. Good luck.

The Great Raid is based on the book, Ghost Soldiers and it's about a mission by US Army Rangers to liberate allied POW's from a Japanese prison camp that is well behind enemy lines. I read the book several years ago and it was a great read...unfortunately, the critical reviews I've read so far have pretty much panned the movie.
