what were the conditions at the airfield you want it to be at at the time? what did the grounds look like?

You have a lot of work ahead of you. Best to pick up the book, "The Lost Squadron" by David Hayes from Hyperion Press. If you want the finished product, do a search for "Glacier Girl"

Believe they were P-38F's and the only 32nd scale kits are later versions with different engines. Were you planing on making it look like it was just buried, during the recovery or afterwards? A dio of them doing the recovery would be really neat but a lot of detail work would have to be done and the display would be interesting also. Maybe a box with clear front and sides (or all the way around) with the recovery setup above the entry tunnel on top and then the area around the plane visible...hmm...maybe I could do this in 72nd...

Glacier Gril was my Idea. But what I need help
on is trying to make an ice cupe that big and make it look real.
FYI it is a 1979 or 1980 Revell kit. Matter of fact there is a contest for
a turbo mustang. A was thinking of puting a bomber in it but
that will be to big. Last I heard the P-38 was 70% rebuilt.
Anyone know if it is flying yet?

It is flying, I've seen footage on one of the DIscovery channels and I believe it's doing the airshow tour.

Got a few pics of Glacier Girl while at Nellis last year (even bought the T-shirt).
She didn't fly during the show but have seen pics of her in the air.

years in the ice she is flying. The pic of the nose
is great. My brian is going now.
I' am starting on the sides of it. What I'am doing is heating
up the plastic and lying it over a few rocks.to get the rough look.
Inside the box I was going to drape some stuffing from an old pillow.
