Just do a search for photos of European winter. Don't use a sunny looking day, however.

I used a pic I took of an area a 1/2 mile from my house. It was a perfect day for a pic to depict the foggy, snow on the ground conditions of the Ardennes during the Ardennes Offensive of the Battle of the Bulge. So I took pics with my digital camera. Downloaded and printed them out and put them together to get the realistic looking background pic I wanted. Try it.

My hobby shop carries some pretty good size backgrounds for models. I don't know if yours does though.
