Panther in the Bulge dio
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 10:24 PM
i started this model 4 years ago, i really messed it up, so i recently rebuilt it, and put it in this dio... the kit is tamiyas 1/35 panther, the base is just wood covered in water putty painted with a set of techniques to look like snow, the trees a branches, the branches on the tank are leaves from a bush, its all handpainted..
BEFORE: AFTER:
the painting (which i painted) in the background is based off the dio, to set a feel of the entire dio in a setting and heres the picture
comments are welcome, if u want me to post more pictures i have a plethora of them ENJOI, and thanks for looking-DJ

Well the tank looks swell and does your drawing, I like how you also made the snow out of putty, must've took a while, good job.

That's pretty cool. I like the buildup of snow on the roadwheels, nice touch. The painting is pretty well done. Wish I was artistic. Cool kitty.

hmm, very interesting. Should consider attaching that background permanently. Great snow effect.

i did a lot of reseach on this...to make it a tank that actually existed: Franz Frauscher's Panther #431, sliped through the american defenses in the bulge, and enflicted a lot of casulties, including about 3 shermans
the putty kept shrinking when i built it up so in some places i put balsa uinder it and in some (on the fallin tree) i put hot glue, and painted it white. the standing tree was supposed to be an entire tree with isicles and everything but i got mad one day and got sick of glueing branches so i broke it in two.
thanks for looking!-DJ
