man that is too bad about the pics, I sure would love to see the detail of this gun... did you add anything extra to it? I built the Tamiya one a long time ago! The figs look good in my opinion! Can't have a gun without anyone there, unless it's destroyed, and this looks cocked and ready to go! good stuff for your first

gringe- i used this stuff i found in my LHS thats for railroads, its this green kinda like cotton but less dense, nxt time i have to cut it into pieces cuz it just looks like a bunch of little bushes.
zokissima- its really like crayola modeling clay, (dont use it)
THINGS THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DO: more little sandbags, better dirt, camo net on top of it, and work on the grass..

Big Smile [:D] that sucks that you have to do it over, but from the looks of it it looks nice.

i think it looks fine (except for the base curling of course). the only thing id mention is that the sandbags look a bit big, and are too low for them to do any good for the crew should some hits come close. i like the greass by the way, what did you use for it?

When you redo this, ditch the figures. The sculpting is weak and the poses are useless. There really is nothing you can do with these to make them loko good or logical. There's at least one new gun crew coming out to compliment the newer 88's.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

It's a pity the pics are so blurry, but I like the first pic. It looks pretty good from what I can see. Hey you live and learn as we all do over the years. Keep em coming.

Not bad for a first try, not bad at all! Next step would be to work on the dirt, celluclay works great. IMHO the grass looks fine. the next step would be accuracy. Overall, not bad.

Not back for a first try. Keep an eye on the base. Being cardboard there's a chance of it curling up as the base material finishes curing and shrinks a little. It always seems to shrink even after you're done. Try keeping it on a flat surface with a little weight on the corners.

this is my first dio, of Tamiya's 88, the kit was pretty good, the base, being my first is just cardboard with crayola putty on the top, (BIG MISTAKE!) then i just glued brown sand, made sandbags outta putty, and glued the fluffy grass thing in clumps. i have to redo this entire dio sometime, but till then enjoy its current glory:
its blurry i know.
