rebelreenactor the wrong writings that I've seen on non-russian modelers t-34s arent really funny... I would say its kinda careless and disrespect... For example there is a decal in one of Tamyia kits for KV or IS tank which says "For Mother Russia" in cyrilic but the strange thing is that they did not translate word "For" into russian - left it on English but written with cyrilic letters... So half of slogan is on russian but the other is still on English... I am surprised they did not write it in JapaneseAngry [:(!] Is it too complicated to spend just few minutes more and find the real translation in dictionary??? Or at least post a question here - a lot of russians are here too - they will be glad to help... But it seems like nobody cares

i HATE that one. it's some pretty popular kit too so it keeps coming up. there was a picture of a kit with that decal in FineScale. screw it, don't care any more...

1.First one has a name SUVOROV written in cirilic. Suvorov was very famous and most successfull general in 18th sentury (actially he had the highest rank ever in Russian army - generalissimus) You can say that he was the first and the only one who gained this rank... The second man with this title was Stalin...
So they name streets, schools, universities and even tanks with this name... Same as with your Lincoln or WashingtonWink [;)]

2.Second one has a word which means "Polar man"... I guess the commander or even the whole crew of this tank was from north of Russia... I am not kidding - it was very common to name tanks with funny names...

Well these examples dont have slogans - just namesSmile [:)] but heres good one
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/t54-0010.jpg

This slogan says "ZA RODINU" which means "For Motherland" (verry common one)
Well here is just a little example of how many of them there were on t-34's Wink [;)]

http://photobucket.com/albums/y211/intruder_bass/?action=view¤t=t-34aer.jpg
basicly they say:
For Stalin!
For Our Mothers!
To Berlin!
Death to Hitler!
Glory for Soviet takists!
For Victory!
From Kursk to Kharkov and Livov
etc.

Smile [:)]Take care!

Andy

IIRC, the "n" is actually a "P" in russian. What looks like a "p" in cyrillic is actually an r...

ahhh vy gavaritye pa russkie tavarish?

well, as far as i know, on all soviet tanks there were either a) no markings at all or b) a little insignia (such as elite soviet guards or something) and then just numbers.

Well from your description it just sounds like they are from different units. The decals just represent different tanks.
