I hoped that would help. If I would happen across something I'll send it your way.

I'll look about for some info on the net and if nothing comes up I'll ask a friend I'll be seeing later for ideas. (She just got out of the Navy, I'm figuring you want modern)

That's a good idea 'Lepercan' , I would certainly like to try this , but I still need to know the dimensions of either the Tow Tractor or Fire Truck . I've also been doing a search on the internet on-line hobby stores for Fujimi's Flight Deck Crew+ Fire Engine , but everyone seems to be out of stock . I'm still keen to try and scratchbuild one though .

Thanks for the advice heavy arty ; I have purchased in the past Hasegawa's weapons loading and aerospace ground equipment and more recently Italeri's combat aircraft support group . But I've never seen any flight deck vehicles in the hobby stores here in Sydney . So I was thinking along the lines of using the wheels and base's from the other set's I've mentioned and modifying them as flight deck vehicle's , but as I said I'm unsure of the dimensions of the tow vehicles. I appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Fujima, Hasagawa, Italeri and a few others make 172 and 1/48 USN deck vehicles that come in some of their pilots sets. They are about $10-15 per set. Would be much easier than scratch-building them yourself.

Scratchbuilding Flight Deck Vehicles
Posted by Helo H-34 on Friday, September 9, 2005 5:00 PM
I was thinking of trying to scratchbuild a Deck Tractor in either 1/72 and 1/48 scale to display along-side my USMC Helicopters . I know Verlinden Productions make a series of flight deck vehicles , but unfortunatly there to expensive to buy ; [like most hobbiest I'm on a budget] . I'm unsure of the dimensions of the deck tractor , so I was wondering if anybody has ever tried building one from scratch . If it's not to difficult to do , perhaps I could also try and build other equipment , such as a fire tractor , utility carts etc . Or am I just being to ambitious . I welcome any thoughts and comments . Kind regards Helo 53 Question [?]
