Mixing scales

Then you are missing out on a large area that can be modeled. This is most true for modern warfare where civilian vehicles are all over the battlefield. Only a few models, in expensive resin, out there of 1/35 civilan vehicles. Also true if you want to have aircraft and maybe a jeep, groundcrew, etc. together. No 1/32 jeeps and groundcrew figures that I know of.

Take the leap man, it is not that hard to do. Broaden your horizons.

Rughey- Mixing 1/32 and 1/35 scale models is fine as long as you don't use similiar items in both scales-Like all figures should be in one scale-although people vary in size-Boy now I've confused myself.

Hey, I looked at your profile, and I see you're an arty guy at NTC.

The picture in my profile was taken out there. In March of 2003 my MN National Guard unit came down there to join Red Force as 2S1s when the 4th ID was testing out their Strykers. We were F Battery, 151st FA. We brought our M109A5s down. I drove the M577 for our BOC. It was a blast, but it was weird being there as the real war was just starting. Our rock is towards the front of the mass as you drive towards the main gate from Barstow. Our medic and I painted it. It's a big red rock with the Red Bull patch and crossed cannons. Do you know if it's still there?

Two months after that trip we got activated, and that summer we were deployed to Italy as MPs. I got out a couple of months after our return, and then the unit got reclassed as combat engineers.

How long have you been in? That's cool that you got to visit Japan for that contest.

Thanks for the advice. I'd like to build some 1/32 scale aircraft and then mix in some 1/35 figures and vehicles to make a nice diorama (albeit a big one). I wouldn't have even thought about keeping the same scale for weapons and other things, so thanks for that.

I mix 1/35 vehicles and figures with 1/32 helos, aircraft, and civilain vehicles all the time. As long as you keep constant sized items, weapons, canteens, etc., it is not an issue. Mixing of 1/32 figures and 1/35 figs is not an issue either. People come in all different sizes, equipment generally doesn't. The differeance is not that noticable. You can see some examples in my Showcases below.
