Doirama for WW2 Europe

Scuplted from clay, painted well. Pretty much all I have seen from my days of table top gaming.

I dont think there is any way to simulate Fire and Smoke. Even using real Fire/Smoke looks artificial.

For smoke, use steel wool shaped and airbrushed whatever color, in this case, really dark gray or black, not sure for fire though

I agree. To make flames realistically is just about imposible. (i say just about because you never know)

Although I am going to try and explosin on a building. I plan to use painted cotton and add orange and yellow lights to the inside of the smoke. If it looks bad I'll take it out. BUt I cant know with out trying.

How about using using fiber optics to simulates hot embers, or a tiny light to simulate muzzle flash. If I'm not mistaken, Shep Payne covers the use of such technique in his book, How To Build Dioramas.

I seem to remember seeing an article somewhere about using a model railroad locomotive smoke generator imbedded in the diorama base to create smoke effects. Not really useful for actual flames, but for smoldering stuff it would work.
