I know you think they are great and you are happy with them, but the quality is not that great and should be much better for "professionally" built pieces that you are paying for. I wouldn't brag about them. Why don't you build a few and show us your work, then we can help you to improve. You would probably get a better response than showing mediocre pieces by supposedly "professional builders" who you pay to do them. Frankly, they are ripping you off with that level of quality.

listen here "heavyArty" . 1. not to be mad ,but if your blind or something it clearly says on model maniacs page(under the pics he posted he wrote a website) in the second to last sentence in the first paragraph "Their (as the models) quality is not so decent, so viewers' discretion is adviced." 2. You shouldn't correct their spelling or insult them because their new or wrong in your mind.

Well now, isn't this interesting? I kind of enjoy seeing MM's postings, so what if they aren't his or whatever, the ideas are good, and like MM said his reasons are his own, which I totally respect.
Everyone has a right to post what they want for a dio or whatever, and I'm sure once we've finished a dio, it feels good to have something done, and can't wait to post it so others can see.
It's comments from you like sloppy and turds that turn people off of the hobby. God, I'd hate to see how you'd comment on a build from a little kid, he'd probably be in therapy for a long time! Dead [xx(]
So what if people say it's the best dio they've ever seen, if it makes the person feel good and fill them with inspiration, then they can say how good it is.
Mr Know It Alls like you just have way too much time on their hands disecting every little thing to find wrong with something, I've seen some of your stuff, and it ain't all that Censored [censored] hot either, buddy boy. But I'm too much of a man to use words like sloppy and turdy when commenting on someones build. if I don't like it, I'll comment NICELY and perhaps give a couple suggestions, while giving some praise at the hard work someone has put into their work, not slashing and burning the person to the ground. Just because something doesn't meet your "high" standards of excellence is not an excuse to rudely cut someone down.

Remember, this is a HOBBY, for relaxing, a pastime, a way to unwind..but for others their hobby is spent staring two inches from the screen jus looking for anything "wrong" so they can blast away at the poster.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go start laying down some gloss pink on my T-34...

Kinda of shows the mentality of even this very talented person, who must have lifts in his shoes, just to look a little taller, it also allows him to walk over us turds. I'm outta here. Thats two forum pages these napoleon types have managed to take the enjoyment out of. Take care my fellow modellers. Semper Fi, Mike

Ease up Heavy,we`ve all benifieted from your "constructive criticisms" at one point and have been appreciated by the logic you posess, but we are all different even in modelling,we can`t all be perfect and we can`t all be "turds"!

Many thanks for kind comments from Thanato, J-Hulk, zokissima, yw18mc, bbrowniii and thehannaman ! I fully agree with you. I've never considered Heavyarty's comments as constructive. On the contrary, they are bad examples of how destructive and unfriendly comments could be given on any forum anywhere. He never began with "it's nice, but..." but with outright flame-throwing. How much I paid for those unseen dio's is my business and none of his business. If I tell him how much I paid he might say I used slave labor. In fact I have a pity on him. I don't think he has much friends with this kind of mouth. You can't expect an ivory to grow out of dog's mouth the same way you can't expect nice words to come out of his mouth. That's all I want to say. From now on I'll not retaliate him in any case. He's just not worth my time and effort!

Never said anyone can't post or say what they want to, re-read my posts. So you need to chill out. I will continue to give constructive criticism as I see fit. I haven't brow beaten anyone. If you don't agree, too bad. You can continue to give your "Hey, that looks great, best ___ (insert model name here) I have ever seen!!" to every turd that you see. I don't care either way.

You calm down there, new guy.

Listen old-timer, I've been watching you brow beat guys for months and have sat idle thinking it none of my business. But nothing NOTHING pisses me off more than someone pulling the "newbie" card on someone. Thanato has a point, you need to chill the Censored [censored] out. You don't own these forums and people can post what they like without harassment from "vets" such as yourself. You don't like what someone post in a thread? You don't think it's "appropriate?" Then don't participate in the discussion. You need to back off on the negativity.
Case in point..........

Jeepers, go easy there wild man. 'New guys' have just as much right to post here as you do with your 25,000 posts or whatever it is...

You are right, when people post, they are opening themselves up to CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Your criticisms don't appear very constructive to me. They do not seem to be offered in the spirit of trying to help someone improve but instead to just trash on someone elses work.

Case in point, over at the missing-lynx forum, you commented on the diorama thread "sunker road/hill 112". You pointed out that, in your opinion the round base did not work with the groundwork, as the modeler had displayed it. Well reasoned comments, specific, non-judgemental. All in all, spot on constructive criticism. Your reaction to the dios in this forum... not so much...

Live and let live! Point out the things in a project that fall short of being correct, or in this case being of professional quality, but personnally, I don't care for the character assassination that seems to underlie some of the comments. I don't think we really need that kind of commentary. For those of us who enjoy viewing the work of others regardless of their qualifications, it just doesn't set well seeing someone chastised for wanting to share the work that brings them enjoyment. I gotta say folks, I've grown very weary of any kind of comment on this forum. I don't like shots being fired at people for just wanting to share. I thought this was a forum for all, not just afew. My apologies for ranting I have already removed myself from the odd and end forum quite sometime ago because of this kind of commentary. Mom was right! Sometimes it's better to be seen then heard. Some of these are well done. What's with the colour of the gun in the first pic? Looks a little too brown...

The last one, I see glue spots under the feet of some of the figs, and the demarcation line between their cuffs and gloves...well, there isn't one....
Even a simple wash would have enhanced these.
Other than that, they look good.

Maniac should state that these are collectors dioramas, I think its ok then.

Apart from that he should be willing to accept critisism when posting pics.
I'm not mean, just want to discuss some aspects.

1.) Picture one. The concrete bunker seems to be more than a temporary defense site, so I suggest to point the barrel to the air, because it´s more likely the FLAK was meant to attack airplanes rather than ground targets.
If its a long-term installation then the trailers(?) are wrong. They just wouldnt be needed since the FLAK is mounted on the concrete floor. The misplaced exhaust was already mentioned. I also think AA-Flaks didnt sport the shield. Apart from that the FLAK looks a bit too rusty in my eyes.

2.) Picture two. Looks quite ok, except the poor work on the walls and the figures look a bit glossy.

Maybe I´m wrong with some of my assumptions, but I´m open to discussions ;-)
Excuse my bad english by the way.

Bye, Chris

Gino brings up some valid points... bluntly, of course, but that's his way. And he, like all of us here, is certainly entitled to express his opinons.

I for one appreciate seeing the models in Model Maniac's collection. I do not see any problem at all in him posting pix here or on any other modelling website (not everybody visits every website). They are, after all, MODELS! This is a website about models, and modelling. Well, here are some models! He has always been up front with the fact that these are not models he built himself. He's a collector, and he's been gracious enough to share his vast collection with us. I would suggest we enjoy the models and learn what we can from them.

As far as Model Maniac paying too much for the quality of work he receives goes, well, only he can really make that determination. I can appreciate the sentiment of trying to help a guy be aware of the quality of a product and suggest that he might be paying too much, but value is still in the eye of the buyer.

A final thought...So what if Model Maniac doesn't want to build his own models? Why should that bother any of us? He is doing plenty to further our hobby by offering us all free looks at some nice works.

I have no issue with Model Maniac posting pics of other's work, but I'm curious why he doesn't build kits himself (or does he and not show them?). He certainly has the interest level and money to build ($3k for that Panther!), I would think he would get much more satisfaction out of posting pics of his own work than that of others. with so much knowledge here in these forums, he should take advantage of it and improve his skills.

I would rather post my mediocre models and learn from the people in these forums than post someone else's work, but that's just me.

If you post pics, you should be prepared to accept constructive criticism, whether you built them or paid for the, especially if you didn't build them. I would take these comments back to the builders that I had paid money to and ask them about the work they did.

Without constructive criticism, no one will improve there "skills" and get better. By blowing sunshine up everyones butt that every model posted is the best whatever, no one benefits, except the guy you are pumping up the ego of.

By the way, they are not his dioramas. He is simply the owner. They are built by his excellent, "professional builders."
