Hey everyone been a real long time since i have been here but it is good to see how much is going on and what amazing models are out there. The other day my wife went to Michael's arts supply store . I was amazed at all the products that were usuable for model making usually i just hit the hobby store. I came across two items that i figured i would give a shot. I usually use DAS modeling clay for my bases which is pretty heavy and takes time to shape. While at the store I came across Crayola model magic white modeling clay. To my surprise it was very light compared to DAS and easy to work with of course soon as i got it home i had to play with it like a little kid. The second thing i have been using is styrofoam boards building them up and shaping to form  hills and such. Roaming around the store I found AMACO wireform.also light in weight and you can form it to any shape you want. Yet again right to playing with my new toy soon as i got it home. I got out a piece of scrap plywood and played. I made a small hill from the wire and started fixing it to the plywood. I did this by hot gluing it to the plywood. Once that was done I coved the wire with the modeling clay and I had an outstanding hill. I let everything set and then painted it and it look very good for just messing around. The only thing i would suggest is that if you are going to place anything such as a vehicle or something heavy on your hill either stick to styrofoam or support under the hill with balled up news paper or maybe aluminum foil . Placing trees and foliage isnt a problem at all. I would have posted pics of it all but my 14  month old son decided the best place for the digital cam was in the dogs water bowl Shock [:O] so now something else i get to save up for lol. hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!
