Paint colors for Navy Flight Deck

Depends on the carrier, and when and where it was operating.  Paint schemes changed throughout the war and on different ships.  Best bet would be to ask this in the ships forum.

i am not very sure about WW2 carrier colors but modern carriers have a deck that's almost identical to model masters "Gunship Gray" although i'm sure it was different back then. hopefully that will help a little.

Deck blue - Navy shade 20-B. I don't know if Model Master makes it. Colour Coats do. Dark Sea Blue lightened a little bit would be close. They used stain, not paint on the wooden flight deck of US carriers so the color isn't uniform. It looked a little streaky I believe. Actually, I see that Colourcoats makes a color (or should I say, "colour" ;-)) called: "Flight deck stain 21" that is probably exactly what you need. Carriers in '45 used Flight Deck Stain #21 which started with the ESSEX class as they came into service in 1943. This color when new matched that of 5-0 Ocean Gray. This new stain was also used on the flight decks of INDEPENDENCE class CVLs and CVE classes in 1943 and into 1944. About mid-1944 there was the introduction of #21 Flight Deck stain (revised). This revised stain was (when newly applied) identical to 20B deck Blue (revised) and was a near match in service with the introduction in March 1944 of glossy Sea Blue, a new camouflage color for use on carrier aircraft. When a flight deck was using #21 Flight Deck stain the deck markings would probably have been in yellow.

Model Master Acryl (acrylic) and White Ensign (enamel) make this color. Be sure you get #21 Revised.
