thanks.  nice to see someone else knows this stuff.  it's the roden 1/72 lagg-3 kit.  the kit got pretty good reviews but turned out to be a real piece.  the figures are actually 1/72 australian infantry bashed into different poses.  here's my old build thread with progress pictures and lots and lots of complaining:  http://www.finescale.com/FSM/CS/forums/547064/ShowPost.aspx

Nice build on the LaGG-3.

Like the oil drip underneath.

For those who are curious, (in regards to thread title), the early LaGG's were poorly received by VVS pilots & Ground Crew alike.

Thus earning the Ac. the nickname of 'Coffin'.

Some even said the designation; LaGG was : Lakirovany Garantirovanny Grob which translates to 'Varnished Guaranteed Coffin'.

Ironically this Ac. series later evolved into the La.5 & La.7 which turned out to be some of the best VVS fighters in W.W.II

Back to the model!

I have a collection of  ICM  & AM 1/48 VVS Ac. kits, along w/Gavia's La.7

Need a Lagg-3 though, is that a 1/48 kit?

If so, who makes it?

The photos and the kit look great! Is that a MiG-3 or one of the Yaks? Yak-9? I'm not very knowledgable on Soviet WWII fighters, but I think they're pretty awesome.

What kit and scale?

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Regards,

-Drew

sorry, no one will get the title, these planes just aren't very popular.  Smile [:)]  enjoy.
