Metl and resin parts can be painted with any standard model paints.  Enamel works best in my opinion.  You may want to prime them with an automotive primer first to help the paint stick, but it is not essential.  Good luck.

Is that Marston Matting for an Expediant Airfield?  If so, the most suitable color would probably be rusty red-brown.  The rust would be a lighter shade in areas that recently had tire contact.  Rubber tires have a tendancy to rub the top layer of corrosion off of the metal.  It would be darker in the recesses due to sun fading.  Even the color of rust fades in the sun.  Of coarse the matting would only rust in climates with moisture present, so rusty red brown probably wouldn't suit a desert scene.  In the desert, sand is everywhere and everything is the color of... sand.  The traffic areas would have some metal shining through.  Just some ideas on matting.  Good luck with your dio.
