So, the dirt is unpainted? How did you apply it to the ground work and get it to hold and not crack? If its unpainted, how did you get the different colours of brown on it...?

Looks good so far. What did you shade and colour the earth with? I'm assuming that Tiger is not finished. Its widely accepted (just what I know) that the undersides ofthe chipped zimmerit would likely be in the oxide red primer colour.

I really like the cammo, but the finish is too new. Like Steve suggested, an overspray of the base will blend it in and fade it out. Great job though. Keep it up.

Smokin,

I know you are trying really hard to get this Tiger into the dio. But, I have a few comments that may help you in the future. First, it is always a good rule to weather tanks from the ground up. The lower hull and suspension should be weathered from the INSIDE to out. In other words, the hull walls, inside roadwheels, top of the track and hull belly/glacis are clean as a pin. This would be an impossible scenario if your goal is realism. I would offer that you should view your model from ground level, and you will see what I mean. Also, there is a technique that you can use with your airbrush, that is, a light ultra thinned filter, or mist coat, to mute and fade the base coat colors, to make the vehicle look like it has been "used" or in the weather for a while.

good looking build.

one thing though... after the zim comes off, the background color should still still be either dunkelgelb or that red zinc oxide color for primer.  i am no tiger buff so i am not sure what i said was correct or not though, don't hold me to it.  =P

You did a very nice job on this dio.  My only comment is that the tank is too clean.  You need to weather it to show its been in the open country.  The road wheels have no build up, the gun muzzle has no soot residue,  the camo is excellent but you really need to weather this tank to put it over the top.  Very nice though.
