How do you put dirt on Dioramas
Posted by Awasoda on Saturday, August 2, 2003 12:39 PM
Hello everyone,
I got a question. I am making a Israeli Diorama with a Ti-67 (modified T-55) tank going through a ruined buildingEvil [}:)] and I was wondering is there an easy way to get the dirt/sand to stick and if so how.

Thank you all for reading and even more if you respond.Approve [^]

First thing I do is build my base. Either out of high grade (dense) styrofoam or cell you clay. With the stryro. i spay a color close to the dirt I'm going to use. With the celluclay, I mix in an appropriate dirt color acrylic paint. Now you've got the shape you want, it's basicaly the color you want. I take REAL dirt run it through a super fine sifter. (I've got jars of various colors of dirt. Next I spray the areas (pump sprayer) I am going to put the dirt in with a liuid white glue (like Woodland sceneics) lightly spinkle on the eral dirt until it gets the way I like it then spray it again with the white glue mix. I learned these technques from master diorama builders and have to admit they look great and are so simple and cheap to do
