Actually, I found out that my local Michael's carries it, which is just fantastic. $30 canadian for a 5lb bag. Wonder how long that will last me.

I also did purchase mine from Michael's as well, but have not used it yet.  Let me know how Celluclay turns out.

Now that you have it. Make sure when you mix it you add plenty of white glue to the mix. You can also pre-colour it with Powdered Paint. If you go to a second-hand shop and find an old electric mixer with the stainless bowl that spins while mixing this works great for mixing the Celluclay and paint etc. Try a few practice bases before setting in on a final one. Just to get the "feel" of how it sets up as it dries.

If all else fails, try Hobby Lobby (Crafts, etc. is online supplier). I can't find Celluclay on Crafts, etc, but Hobby Lobby is ususally a little cheaper than Michael's

If you look at the SPECIALS page, then go to Regular format ad, you'll find weekly sales. Believe me, I look every Sunday for things like Celluclay, because 12 bucks beats 24 bucks even in Trump's limo. If it goes on sale for 1/2 off, I could send you some, as they also sell 1 pound blocks. Either way, with shipping, it's bound to save you a few dollars. I owe you the favor.

Sculptamold is a similar, cheaper version. Have you used it? I've used both. It's a little more coarse, but lighter. Also available at the Lobby.

If you don't add the white glue, the stuff will just flake off, or can potentially fall apart. I've tried it on two instances now, and I love it. The only thing I hate, is that it tends to shrink quite a bit when it dries, and I never know just how much glue/water to add. That shrinking makes it lift around edges and corners, and its not fun trying to fix that. Also, it should not be applied to a thin piece of unprotected wood, as the days worth of drying will warp the wood.

I see zokissima answered already, to this I would add this tidbit. To your 1 part water, 2 part celluclay add a drop or two of liquid dish soap to the water prior to mixing with the celluclay. It breaks down the "surface tension" of the water during the drying phase and "apparently" minimizes the shrinkage. (Read this in a back issue of Railroad Modeler)
