I know you have changed your mind for now but someday you will probably come back to needing structures for your dioramas. I would like to recommend Shep Paines excellent book How To Build Dioramas which has a chapter on building structures. This book is worth every penny.

Thanks for the basic steps on the scratch building. I have had a little brainstorm and have changed my mind on my diorama...so I won't be needing to know anything more. Thanks for all your help so far though.

balsa wood, "zap" superglue a fine grit sand paper for finishing and also if you cut them into little rectangles they make great shingles most of these thing you can pick up at your local hobby shop if you got anymore question i would be glad to help you

Ok duckman...I think I can give that a try...but how would I go about doing that? I suppose it really can't be TOO difficult, but one must remember that I am still a very inexperienced rookie. If you could tell me some things like what materials I should use, where I could get the materials from (i.e. internet, hobby shop, arts&crafts store), and any tips you have on making the process easier; then I would greatly appreciate it. And if any one else still knows where I could find a pre-built house and barn that meet my criteria above, or have any information/hints to spare on the scratch building of the farm and barn; your input as well would be greatly appreciated.

you may have to construct the buildings yourself you might want to try whatching a couple movies like saving private ryan that has a couple shots of a french farm house and possibly a barn hope that helps!
