But no SPR dio...yet! But, it will come, trust me...once I get enought supplies and building materials hahahaha, believe me, my folks have been on me too as well to do something like that for a while!

Maybe tonight I'll start work again, I've got Dragon 251 tracks assembled before the "dark Day"...maybe I'll force myself to start work on the hull. I kinda get the itch to build, then, it goes away...must be a little progress made, as I didn't even want to look at plastic a week ago LOL

From my own personal experience, its probably the best thing you can do. Just keep your mind busy, and off of you-know-what.

Thanks M1, it also doesn't help when we live right beside each other too. But she's going to be moving in a month or so, so it should hopefully help. Everything just sucks right now.

As promised, here's a few updated pics of my reworking of the dio. Look at the old pics and the new ones, you'll see the differences. Enjoy!

Kelly Zak,

Sorry to hear about your breakup.  Hope things will work out for both of you and you return to building great models soon.

Thanks mfsob, actually the medic is only holding a smoke in his hand. I've repositioned the figs around a bit, hopefully should have some pics up shortly.

m1garand, well all good things come to an end, unfortunately my gf and I have split a week ago, we both agreed that it hadn't been working for the last few months, but it's really hard right now, I have no urge to build at all, let alone do anything...LOL

Far better than anything I could ever do. I like how it's busy and cluttered and chaotic like a combat scene would be, but without being overwhelming to the eye.

My only question on the details - is the medic holding a Thompson gun? Hard to tell from the photos of him, but if he is, that was pretty much a no-no in WW II, except in extreme cases.

LOL, if she'll only keep me! hahahaha, it's nice to have a better half who doesn't see your hobby as a "playing with toys" type, and has a genuine interest in what I build!

Added shell casings around the mg, and cut the sign post out, and added the signs to the telephone pole. Need to scratch up the red cross on the back of the medic's helmet, as when the decal dried, it dried crooked. Gonna add a bullet belt to the mg, and hopefully I can finally call this one done!

Kelly-zak,

First of all, your girlfriend sounds like a real keeper.  If you could do Saving private ryan "the Alamo" Scene, I think you can still keep it small.  Anyway, I really enjoy your work.

Thanks everyone, of course I'd love to another simalar dio! SPR?! Oh man, do you know how big that'd be? I'm trying to make 'em smaller!! Laugh [(-D]

Going to add some spent shell casings by the mg..(how the hell could I have forgotten that?!) I always weather stuff like buildings and such with artist oils, and since my gf got me a big set of oils for Valentine's Day, I made good uses of the colours, I wanted to show an algae caked lower part of the bridge, so  I mixed up a couple greens and added some brown, and just dabbled away, adding thinner as I went to blend everything in.

I also would love you see you build another diorama similar to this one.  How about the scene from Saving Private Ryan? Cool [8D]

What an excellent dio. Great water, love the way you weathered the bridge. Your dio really gives the impression that a tough battle has just ended.

Wow excellent work.

Any chance you can make a brief writeup on how you get these ruined effects. Do you place ALL the rubble on at once, as in the large, medium, fine chunks, and the litter, then paint, or does some of it come afterwards.

Hi All, this is my latest work....Tamyia's Panther G, Verlinden Ruined Bridge, Dragon figures. Water made from layers of Gloss Mod Podge, first time doing water...

Suggestions made by other modellers had me thinking to do some more work on it...so I have since rearranged some figures around a little...the three figures (the german and two gi's) are now where the radio operator is, the operator has been moved to the front where the sandbags and other guy is. Still want to maybe move the street sign somewhere else, just need to think of a spot.

comments welcome!

Kelly
