Buy it and if all else fails keep it for spare parts.

Hooya!

I love the smell of super glue in the morning. Smells like...victory.

Yes, Italeri has most of their molds and has reissued many of them.

Yes, Esci did a set as did AMT/Ertl, which used Esci kits and accessories with vacuformed bases. MPC did the vacuformed base sets as well but used Airfix 1/76 scale items.

Dragon does a 1/72 scale LCM3 with a beach scene and several GIs and beach obstacles as well. It is probably the easiest of the above kits to find. I think it came out in late 2004 and should still be readily available. The LCM is not as nice as Trumpeter's, but includes a clear acetate display base.

Didn't ESCI also had a set of 1/72 scale diorama, including the base (D-day), vehicles and figures?

These old Airfix kits are actually 1/76 scale and from the 60s and 70s. A few of Airfix's latest kits are true 1/72 scale (the ones they distribute with Heller like the WB Jeep, LCVP, and CCKW 2½ ton truck).

Any opinons on the kits quality?

Is there any thing else out there to recommend in a similar subject?

Thinking of a dio with a beached 1/72 something or other.
